If you are a fan of spiced chai lattes you are going to love this recipe!) Made from dried spices and without all the added sugars or syrups that you find in most of our high-street coffee shops. This versatile blend can be used to make a milky latte or added to sweet recipes/pastries for a bit of pizzazz. It’s so good – even my dad liked it (he’s Indian by the way!)

This blend is:

  • spicy
  • authentic
  • only made with spices and contains no sugars or caffeine

What you will need:

80g finely ground black pepper
175g ground ginger
50g ground cinnamon
40g ground cardamom
5g ground cloves
5g ground nutmeg

What to do:

Combine the spices and store in an airtight jar. Use 1/8-1/4 tsp of the blend in 1 mug of warm milk for a chai latte adding sweetener to taste. I personally like mine quite spicy so I add 1/4 tsp to a regular mug of black tea (with nut milk). You may wish to allow the tea to steep before straining for a smoother consistency.
