If you haven’t already started making your own nut/seed butters you will kick yourself when you find out how easy it is! It has only 2 ingredients; and neither of them is a sweetener. But this recipe does require some love and patients to get to the desired consistency.

This recipe is made with activated nuts (by way of soaking them overnight). This helps to remove the enzyme inhibitors making the nut butter gentle on your tummy.


What you will need:

Pinch of salt to taste


What to do:

Soak 2 cups of almonds overnight in filtered/spring water.

Dry them thoroughly the following day in an oven at 170C for 10-15 minutes. Check them every 5 minutes to ensure they don’t over toast. Then blend in a food processor until the desired consistency is reached (this could take up to 20 mins). Periodically stop to scrape down the sides and let the processor cool.

Add a pinch of salt to taste.
