You can’t beat homemade plant mylk. Made with only 3 ingredients (one of which is sea salt!) Although this is a recipe for almond mylk, you can use the simple ratio of 4:1 to make any nut or seed mylk. I do LOVE coconut mylk which yields a super creamy drink that doesn’t require any sweeteners.
This recipe is:
- super easy
- super quick
- had no additives or sweeteners
- perfect for experimenting! Try adding cacao for a chocolate milk!
What you will need:
1 cup almonds (or any other seed or nut). 4 cups filtered water
½ tsp vanilla
1-2 dates (optional)
Pinch of sea salt
What to do:
Soak the almonds in filtered water overnight.
Rinse and blend the nuts with dates and 4 cups of filtered water until the water turns cloudy.
Pour the liquid through a cheese cloth/muslin square squeezing out all of the mylk and leaving behind the pulp. Dry the pulp and store for future use.
Return liquid to the blender and add vanilla and a pinch of sea salt.
Store in an airtight bottle in the fridge for up to 5 days.
